I was doing a book search for Hooper’s Island and apparently, you can buy Hooper’s Island in India. I wonder if the locals know?

Island of Nicknames.

One thing I noticed as a kid scooting around the island was that most of the people I knew had nicknames.  Having lived elsewhere, I have never again experienced such an abundance of nicknamed people.  A by product of a strong  community.  We never found it odd to call each other Lip, Puss, Booger, or one of my favorites, Pee-Hole.  In fact we would reminisce about the nick names of those before us and remind ourselves of their stories.  I imagine like us, they would do the same.
